COOK-WAITE MARCAINE 0.5% with Epinephrine 1:200,000 (As Bitartrate) Injection (Bupivacaine hydrochloride and Epinephrine injection, USP) Provides profound operative anesthesia for up to six hours, and prolonged soft-tissue pain control for up to seven hours. Its unique, extended anesthetic action reduces the need for postoperative analgesics. Onset of the anesthesia takes only two to ten minutes.
Indications for Usage:
MARCAINE is indicated for the production of local anesthesia for dental procedures by infiltration injection or nerve block in adults. Only accepted procedures for these techniques—as described in standard textbooks—are recommended.
Applications:
Extraction of impacted third molars
Apicoectomies/periapical surgery
Periodontal surgery
Gingivectomy
Curettage
Endodontic treatment or therapy
Prolonged crown and bridge preparations
Prolonged operative procedures
Precaution:
Due to long duration of anesthesia with MARCAINE, inadvertent trauma of the mucosa must be considered. Therefore, MARCAINE is not recommended during pregnancy or for children under 12.
